The Old Boy: Yew

This large embroidery was inspired by one of my many photographs of ancient trees – in this case, an old churchyard Yew, thought to be 500 years old.

It was drawn freehand using the sewing machine needle as a pen – not drawn on the canvas first.

It featured on the BBC's coverage of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show Centenary.
