This piece symbolizes all the water of the watery land of Ireland – the rain making everything bright, the great Atlantic waves, the waterfalls silvering the hills, the rocky streams tumbling down the mountains and the wide, slow rivers.

Close up you can see the many layers of stitching over the painted background. As with all my work, this piece was intuitive, arising from feelings, emotions and the pure joy of experiencing the colours of this landscape.
